I’ve been really wanting to try out 骸Attack!! (Mukuro Attack!!), especially after hearing Sekihan’s cover.

Crazy metal and yelling. Might be fun for once. DIE!! DIE!! DIE!!!!!! Yeah.

Caught up on reading One Piece over the weekend. It’s not the greatest manga ever, and I still don’t like the art style, but the story’s not bad. It’s still pretty crazy…

Began reading Nana too. Hachi reminds me of Kyoko. Anyway, enough of useless chatter. Need to do physics.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
信じられない(shinjirarenai) – “I can’t believe it!” Also shortened to 信じんない(shinjinnai) in slang.

>So I started and finished reading Genshiken the other day. For people who don’t know what that it, it’s a series about a college club of sorts, in which a bunch of otaku gather together and do otaku things. Somehow they manage to snag bishounen and bishojo. This does not tend to happen in real life.

I was pretty surprised by the lack of “hardcore”-ness of it. I was expecting it to be a lot more extreme, I guess. There was quite a focus on porn and eroge. Completely different from Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, but I guess the reasons are pretty obvious.

It seems that most otaku we see (on TV or whatever) all look like crap. Messy hair, bad posture, skinny, and bad teeth. Propaganda, most likely. Well, I guess most otaku are like that…Imagine the chaos it’d be if every otaku were like Danny Choo:

I feel like eating cake. Parents threw out the cake. Am slightly annoyed.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
迷子(maigo) – a lost child. In context, it could mean a lost anything, really, though.

New Chapters

New manga chapters are out again. In Bleach and Katekyo Hitman Reborn, the captains and Tsuna are getting completely dominated by Aizen and Byakuran. Oh yeah, spoilers. Oh well. This is kind of depressing, actually, but well, we’ll just leave it to deux ex machina to get our main characters’ asses out of trouble.

I really really hope Bleach will end soon. At the very least kill off Hitsugaya. He’s getting annoying beyond belief, with his spouting of one-liners and trying to be cool. In the end he just ends up half dead until a plot hole gets dug and he gains massive hax powers. Rinse and repeat.

It’s really hard to find pens that are finer than 0.5mm. Managed to get some 0.38mm pens finally. Also, the Japanese slang book I have is too full of sexual terms. Making it almost useless. *sigh*

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
俺(ore) – the very very informal and masculine “I”. Actually, while I’m at it, I’ll go over the other I’s. The most formal is 私(watakushi) which is used in very formal situations, like business and such. Then is 私(watashi) which is the same kanji, but pronounced differently. This is used frequently in most situations with strangers or respectable people. For guys, 僕(boku) is informal, and is used usually as teens and such. Females have the very informal あたし(atashi), which I believe is usually used among close friends. The same with the male 俺(ore), although anime and manga use it a lot. Don’t learn from them, or you’ll end up like Dillon.

Hikaru no Go

Don’t you hate having work and then going off to eat a meal? I never feel like working with a full stomach…time to digest my curry rice.

I recently found out that the Hikaru no Go manga has furigana in it, so I search around for the raw version. Well, I did manage to make sense out of most of it, but after reading about 30 pages, I got tired. But yeah, if anyone is looking for some manga with furigana, Hikaru no Go is great. Although there are those go terms that you probably won’t understand.

(Subtly spreading interest in go, thereby encouraging people to join Go Club)

Now, how long will it take for my Japanese Slang book to get here…
