Durarara!! New Season (?)

Posted in Anime with tags , on April 9, 2010 by kumoriha

New episode is out. And wow, so much stuff in this episode. This would be episode 13, by the way. Celty gets more and more tsundere by the episode. And by the way, anyone know where I can get Orihara Izaya’s jacket?

A really low quality upload of The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi is spotted. *poof*

Going on 2 hours and cake right now. Not fun.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
失礼します(shitsurei shimasu) – literally “I will be rude”; used generally as “excuse me” or something along that connotation. Depends on the situation, I guess. Used when entering homes generally.

Random Tangents

If people tell you to run a tournament, decline. It’s a hell lot of work, especially when other people repeatedly make mistakes. Oh, and the players too. They can’t read. At all.

Neither can their freaking parents.

Which was okay (or rather, I didn’t know much about it) until I actually took over part of handling them. PR sucks.

Anyway, after spending 2-3 hours fixing up a spreadsheet for the next round as quickly as I could, since the original wrong spreadsheet was already posted for some reason, I went on KGS. What started as a discussion about a teaching game my friend was giving quickly turned into otaku talk.

I don’t really remember how it happened, but we somehow went from tesujis and weak shape to Lucky Star, Black Rock Shooter, Haruhi, and Kaiba shachou. Yeah. Some guy came in…and quickly left.

Isn’t it great how Go can help you make friends?

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
手筋(tesuji) – A skillful or clever play in Go. I guess you can use it out of context too, but I don’t know if many people will understand.

The Astonishment of Suzumiya Haruhi

Well, looks like Tanigawa Nagaru’s finally getting started. Hopefully. A part of the new (finally) Suzumiya Haruhi novel will be released later this year. Rejoice.
It seems like Love Plus has been officially considered “fine art” by the Japanese government. I guess I’ll have to agree, albeit in a strange way…
Bakemonogatari episode 14 is finally out too. Will watch now.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
変人(henjin) – Strange person. 変(hen) means weird or strange, and 人(hito, but in this case jin) means person. So “strange person.”

The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi

涼宮ハルヒの消失(Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoutshitsu) the movie was released! Well, I guess it came out yesterday in Japan, but here it’s February 6 today! Looking forward for the illegal internet upload soon. Also, Yugioh 2010 movie sounds hilariously interesting.

Is it just me, or are all the good Japanese movies anime movies?

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
びりびり(biri biri) – the onomatopoeia for something shocking or stinging. Also nickname-turned-official-name of Misaka Mikoto from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.
