Garage Sales

So today I experienced a garage sale for the first time. Very interesting.
Mother woke me up saying, “Hurry up, people are coming to clean. Also, the Japanese people across the street are having a garage sale.”
So we had a look. For some reason, my father gave me $1xx.xx, which I’m sure could have bought every freaking thing there. There was quite a bit of random stuff. I got a nice mug (I’ve been wanting a mug for some time), a tie (been wanting one that doesn’t suck), and 2 Japanese books (some random 1st grade storybook and a Pokemon dictionary). For $4.75. By the way, the books together cost 75 cents. The Pokemon dictionary itself had a retail price of 980 yen.

Yeah.

I love garage sales.

…Although, I really should have picked up a couple of stuffed animals. There were quite a few. Perhaps next time.
ガラージセール最高!

And no, Black Rock Shooter (which got delayed to summer and became an OVA…) has nothing to do with anything.
Random Japanese Word of the Day:
凄い(sugoi) – Wow!, Amazing!, OHMYEFFINGHARUHI. Very, very common adjective. As with anything, it turns into a drawling すげえ(sugee) in slang, where it can be drawn out as long as you want to for emphasis. For even more emphasis, you can go with すっげええ(suggeee…).

I’ve been playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor the whole spring break…and haven’t gotten any homework done. It’s really really good. So good that I didn’t realize I was starving until after two hours.

I have to say, I love the story. Government locktown in Tokyo? Demons everywhere? Humans going crazy? The best part is, you make choices which impact how things turn out, and I really like those “create your own story” things. Unfortunately, I forgot to do something and had two characters die…and can’t go back. Stupid stupid stupid. Now going through the ending is going to be a bitch.

The art is really really good too. The main character whose name you decide looks great – the illustrator is the same one for Durarara!!, which is just awesome. I was probably influenced by the art when I decided to name the MC Izaya…although ingame Naoya looks more like Izaya. MC looks more like a Kida-Mikado cross.

Anyway, it looks like I’ll be running into some troubles now.
1. Finishing Devil Survivor.
2. Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver just came out.
3. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is coming out.
4. Spring break is ending…
5. AP/Finals season is here…
6. AGHS School Team Tournament work…276 people.

I am so screwed.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
女神(megami) – goddess. The 神(kami) means god, and the 女(me) in front of it makes it female, so a female god = goddess.

If a random exuberant monotheistic comes and rants about this, I’m going to laugh.

Diglett

Someone made an MAD of Durarara!!’s ending theme, Trust Me. Only replacing (almost) everyone with a Diglett.
Yeah.
Eyebrows raised, awkward laughter, all that stuff. Nicovideo.
The original ending:

Hmm…it’s flipped.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
キラキラ(kirakira) – the onomatopoeia for something shiny or sparkling. Or twinkling. You get the picture.

Pikachuuu!

Oh dear. New Guinness record for Pokemon fan. This is pretty ridiculous, in a good and bad way.

Started watching Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu too. It’s pretty good, and the concept is pretty interesting (battle with summons with strength based on test scores–oh noes!), but the main character is too stupid to be likeable. Also do not like Himeji, although that’s because I tend not to like the big breasted, soft spoken girls. It just doesn’t fit, and the voice is kind of annoying.

That is all.

Random Japanese Word of the Day:
化物(bakemono) – monster, creature, strange creepy tentacly raping thing, yeah.
